That means more people have left the church in the past 25 years than the sum total of everyone who came to Christ in the First & Second Great Awakenings and all Billy Graham crusades. Such numbers can seem daunting and do indeed reflect a winnowing effect of many who embraced a form of Christianity more than Christ Himself…but we can’t lose sight of Jesus’ affirmation that the fields are ready for harvest."
